So happy with the outcomes and progress we have seen in our son after a 3 month treatment there. This was his third treatment and he seems to have a different commitment to sobriety than ever before. He felt connected and well cared for by staff and their individualized approach was just what he needed. He was 1000 miles from home (MN) and his therapist Jennifer went above and beyond! Dr A was great with meds and really understands young people. Our son was in one of the remodeled rooms and liked it, as well as the peaceful wooded environment. He also liked the alpacas! I sent my daughter to Eagle Overlook Recovery over four months ago and it was the best decision I ever made for my family, my daughter, and myself. The staff is so caring and amazing. They really looked out for my daughter and her recovery as they could tell she was truly vested in the program. I would consider some of these employees my family and my daughter raves about Dr. A as he really has the kids best interest at heart.

You can tell that Eagle Overlook Recovery is not in it for the money, but rather the kids and their recovery. My daughter said while at Eagle Overlook Recovery she said she learned how to show grace to others and be more grateful. Her therapist was great, soft spoken, and very skilled. We may not have chose this facility if it wasn’t for Guy. He took the time to educate me on the process, on addiction, on my daughter’s personal struggles, and even met with my daughter via zoom to ensure she was ready per my request….and he was right! She was ready, she did it, and she is still in recovery!!

I had a great experience with Eagle Overlook Recovery. My son had a rough 1st two weeks. I am sure that is common. I stayed firm, and I did not pull him out (though he begged me to). Then the change started. He really stopped fighting the program and went “All-In”. As he grew, he even found joy in helping others. My son is back to the way he used to be. No long hair hiding his face, he seems awake, his eyes are bright, and he is experiencing real emotion for the first time in a long while. My son also has always wanted nothing to do with GOD. We always take him to church, but he just went through the motions. He blamed God for a lot that went wrong in his live. I say that because now he is telling me that he wants to take steps to be baptized at our church. I am so very thankful to all those at Eagle Overlook who stuck with my son through the hard part and worked to help him become the boy I see today. I know that we have a long road ahead and that the journey continues. Eagle Overlook laid a foundation that will no doubt help us on this new road ahead. Leaving my son at Eagle Overlook for over 2 months was a very difficult decision. It was our last effort in a sense. Today, I am so thankful and happy I made that choice.

We have a teenage son who had severe issues with drug addiction and emotional problems. Eagles Overlook did a superb job every step of the way.

They helped facilitate a nationwide transport service to pick up our son after he ran away to New Orleans. The transport service was nothing less than excellent – very professional and caring. Everyone on the staff were amazing, friendly, and very compassionate with our son throughout the whole process.

We learned that Eagles is far more peaceful and effective than other facilities such as, Hillside or Laurel Heights. At Eagles, our son was treated as a person not a number. The kids benefit from the many amenities while they are in treat me. From the taking care of Alpacas to the outdoor hiking to mining for metal at the nearby streams, Eagles truly provides a place for a young teenager to rehabilitate and recover from their issues.

The program is intense and very thorough. We found the every medical professional from the Psychiatrist, the Therapists, the RAs and the support staff very knowledgeable and caring. We found that the medical professionals treat the ‘root problems’ and not the symptoms.

Our 17 year old son just completed treatment at Eagle Overlook. He was there for 66 days. We were very skeptical of treatment for him anywhere. My teenagers insurance did not cover the costs here, but Guy called me back in less than 24 hours to inform me and also provided me with more resources that her insurance did cover. My child has been having issues with behavior, and substance abuse for a while. Even though he knew I couldn’t afford this place, he stayed on the phone with me, asking questions to better direct me for close to an hour. My sixteen year old asked for help. Until that moment, I didn’t realize the amount of trouble he was having with peer pressure and substances. It had been a long, hard year for him, for everyone in our family, really. Somehow, I didn’t see it, but then he asked for help. I contacted Eagle Overlook and they were able to get him in pretty quickly. We went through the admission process, and for the first time ever, I drove away from him. And he hated it there that first day. And the second day too. By the third day, he began to accept that maybe there was something to be found and he stopped trying to run off, stopped begging staff to call me. They were patient with him, like they knew he’d come around— and he did. There were moments of ups and downs during his stay, but through everything, they remained patient, never making him feel as though he were “less than,” because he’d made mistakes. They helped him come to terms with the issues that were pulling him back to the wrong friends and the wrong decisions. He has been home for over a month and he’s doing amazing, he’s proud of himself and I’m proud of him. A few name drops, Sarah, Guy, and Chris, thank you for keeping me involved and informed while my child was in your care. And to all of the staff there, he has said more than once how grateful he is that you stood by him, that you helped guide him, and that you were patient with him. I was a client here at eagle overlook and I definitely got the help i needed. I had a-lot of great times here and all the staff there is very nice! If you are struggling or know someone who is then i would strongly recommend going here! The thing i like most about this place is that it’s really not like an institution. I would more compare it to a summer camp that also provides you help with your struggles.

I wanted to take a moment and share my thoughts on how well Eagle Overlook did with my son. As someone looking to find quality help for their child knows, the process of recovery is complex, hard and full of steps forward and backward. After being through many programs, my son had reached a point where they no longer wanted to abuse drugs and alcohol but he struggled with breaking the cycle of addiction. Yet, through a combination of intelligent use of discipline, quality clinical and medical care and a smart utilization of many different approaches to care (I love how they have incorporated caring for animals and nature into their programming) my son was able to take real steps forward in his path to recovery. Yes, he walked into Eagle Overlook wanting to make positive change. But I am not sure he could have made the changes he needed to make without quality help. Thanks to the support and care they provided, my son was able to make real progress (after failing with other programs). Further, understanding how addiction can negatively impact all aspects of life, like school and work, Eagle Overlook also works to help with GEDs and jobs. When my son was discharged from Eagle Overlook he had his GED and a job, opening up his life more personal growth when he returned home.
